Hamilton Friends Makes Connections in New York City and Philadelphia
This February Hamilton Friends traveled to New York City and Philadelphia to promote new programs and internship opportunities.
George Cox (President and Interim Executive Director) and Joslin Boroughs (Director of Operations) held informational sessions for local business leaders, philanthropists and Hamilton Friends supporters.
In New York, Hamilton Friends held a cocktail event at the New-York Historical Society. The purpose was to promote the Hamilton Friends Internship Program. "Our main objective was to make connections with individuals interested in funding and providing internships," said Boroughs.
Three Hamilton Scholars attended the New York event. David Hu (Yale University), Kyle Baldwin (Bryant University) and Patrick Foster(University of Texas at Dallas) each gave a short presentation sharing what Hamilton Friends has meant to them.
"It was great having the students there to show the potential supporters what Hamilton Friends is all about," said Boroughs.
The Philadelphia Luncheon, held at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, promoted the Third Year Program. "The Philadelphia event was our chance to introduce Hamilton Friends to the City of Philadelphia and to start building contacts and relationships for the Third Year Program," said Boroughs.
Hamilton Friends is developing a Third Year Leader Week program for Philadelphia with a focus on American heritage.
“All in all,” said Boroughs, “The trip to the East Coast was a success. More people know about our organization and it was a great step toward building our Hamilton Friends community in other cities.”
