This April Marks the Kick-off of the Hamilton Parents Council
The Hamilton Friends Association is excited to announce the launch of the Hamilton Parent Council. The Hamilton Parent Council has been formed to provide help and support as we continue to develop Hamilton leaders.
"We're creating a peer group for the parents where they can gain more information about the program and help introduce new parents to Hamilton Friends," says Joslin Boroughs, Director of Operations.
When new winners are contacted this spring, members of the Hamilton Parent Council will call the new parents. This will offer an invaluable resource for parents who don't understand or have questions about the program.
"When I first heard about the Hamilton Leaders Program, I was a little concerned about sending my daughter with a group I didn't know. Once I understood the goals of the program and I met the people involved, I realized this was an incredible opportunity for her. I would have had more confidence at the onset, if I had been able to talk with other parents and learned about the leadership experiences Hamilton Friends offers these unique, high-achieving young people," said Laurie Matalone, a new member of the Hamilton Parent Council.
As it grows, we hope the Hamilton Parent Council will become an important support system for the Hamilton Friends Association. "Eventually, we would love to have the Hamilton Parent Council to serve as a resource for helping fund raise, volunteer and generate awareness for the Hamilton Program," says Boroughs.
If you are interested in joining the Hamilton Parent Council, please contact Joslin Boroughs at jboroughs@hamiltonfriends.org.

"I had an amazing time in Quetzaltenango. This trip affected me more than any other experience I have ever had in my life... I gained an entirely new perspective on life and I thank Hamilton Friends for providing me with the opportunity to do so."
