Attendees at this year's Seattle Leader Week have selected their class' slate of officers. Following the Seattle Leader Week in June of this year, the Hamilton Award Class of 2007 was asked to nominate individuals to fill the positions of president, secretary, treasurer, historian and officers at large. All officers graduated from high school this past June. Elected president was Kem Chatfield, Jr. of Miami, Florida. Kem is a freshman at the University of Florida. Margaret Chiu was elected secretary. Margaret is from Gahanna, Ohio and attends California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech). Another Ohioan, Troy's John Chen was elected treasurer and attends Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Ryan Florek of Olympia, Washington attends Tulane University in New Orleans. Ryan was elected the group's historian. Finally, three individuals were elected officers at large: Tiffany Taylor, Emma Stockdale and Danya Anouti. Tiffany is from the “carpet capital of the world”, Dalton, Georgia and attends the University of Chicago. Emma is from Knoxville, Tennessee and attends Rice University in Houston. Danya is from Phoenix, Arizona and attends the Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. “This is the second class to attend the Seattle Leader Week and our second group of officers. They are incredibly talented!” said George Cox, AHFA President. Added Joslin Boroughs, AHFA Director of Operations, “By giving each class a structure, we hope to build an alumni culture that will help Hammie Winners feel part of the Hamilton Friends community even after they have finished our program.” |
