Taylor Matalone Wins Scholarship Essay Contest
We are proud to announce that this October, Taylor Matalone, a 2007 Hamilton Award Winner, received a $1,000 scholarship from The National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) and Fastweb.
The scholarship was available to eleventh and twelfth grade students attending high schools in Seattle, Washington. Students were asked to address the following topic in their essays: “Describe a teacher, counselor or experience that has influenced your decision to go to college. Please include how a college education will help you make a difference in your community.”
Taylor's essay was chosen as one of five finalists and this October she received $1,000.00. Taylor is a freshman at the University of Washington and is planning to major in Biology.“The scholarship helped pay for my books this year!” said Taylor.
