Hamilton Friends Begins 2009 With New Technology Committee
Technology Committee Sets Out to Improve Operations and Connectivity for Hamilton Award Program

As the Alexander Hamilton Friends Association begins a new year in a new office in downtown Seattle, they are also starting a new technology committee.

The technology committee was created for two distinct purposes: to improve the tracking of and communication with Hamilton Friend’s donors and students to create new ways to connect Hamilton Friend’s students and donors through online resources, such as social networking sites and the Hamilton Friends Website.

This year the technology committee hopes to support a new database system that will help Hamilton Friends better track and communicate with their growing number of donors and students. The following members are part of the new committee:Lisa Biermann, Sarah Novotny, Alexis Cox, George Cox, Joslin Boroughs and Anna Renzetti.

“More sophisticated database capabilities will help us get a better understanding of who are students are and how our program is helping them,” said Joslin Boroughs, Director of Operations at Hamilton Friends.

What would a technology committee be without a Facebook page? The Hamilton Friends technology committee will also be updating more information on its Facebook page this year and is hoping to communicate more with Hammie Award Winners through its young, hip, cartoon version of the Alexander Hamilton.

The technology committee is one of three major committees that Hamilton Friends hopes to create in 2009 to improve operations and programs. The two other committees will be focus on college and financial aid issues and Hamilton Friends curriculum. Details of these committees will be announced in the coming months.
